Valve & Itch.io’s NSFW Crackdown 💳
Valve and itch.io both pulled adult content from their platforms this week. Not entirely their idea; payment processors like Visa and Mastercard made things tricky. Valve confirmed it had to delist several NSFW titles because of outside pressure.
Itch.io followed suit by hiding all its adult games from search. Legit creators got caught in the mix, including award-winning indie devs. There’s a line between curating content and blanket censorship. This week, that line felt a bit blurry.
Outer Worlds 2 Price U-Turn 💸
Microsoft briefly listed The Outer Worlds 2 at $80. Fans noticed. Loudly. The price is now back down to $69.99.
Xbox says all full-priced games this holiday season will stick to $69.99, which feels like a win. Even the devs seemed surprised by the bump. Sometimes, a little pushback goes a long way.
Hades II Nearing Full Launch 🔥
Supergiant Games dropped the final Early Access patch for Hades II. No date yet, but the team says this is the last update before 1.0.
If you’ve played the first game, you know what to expect. Smooth combat, great writing, and that signature Supergiant polish. The sequel already feels strong. This full release should be special.
Battlefield 6 Trailer Drops 🚁
The Battlefield 6 reveal trailer just hit. Exploding helicopters, skyscrapers collapsing, and an all-out modern war. Classic Battlefield energy.
The single-player campaign follows a rogue private army trying to dismantle NATO. It’s cinematic and chaotic. Multiplayer details are coming July 31. Here’s hoping it lands better than 2042.
Star Wars Outlaws Sales Disappoint 🌌
Ubisoft’s CEO says low sales of Star Wars Outlaws are because people were less into Star Wars when it launched. He pointed to fatigue from recent shows and movies.
That might be part of it, but the game also had bugs and mixed reviews. Star Wars fans haven’t vanished. They just need something worth showing up for.
That’s the week. Short and to the point, with a little heart. I’ll be back next time with more stories, picks, and trailers you shouldn’t miss.
Until then, cheers and happy gaming!
